"I was fortunate enough to attend the Centennial Belles fashion show 'Fifty Years of Fashion' in April, and I'm so glad I did. It was worth the 2 1/2hr trip from Sooke. The show was a success from the start. The greeters made us feel welcome, the servers were very attentive, the goodies delicious. The tables was organized around the runway giving everyone a good view. All the models looked beautiful in their many outfits with their hair done according to the decade. The commentator gave a bit of history with each style, which showed that a lot of research had been done beforehand. And I hear that many of the outfits were hand sewn, just beautiful. The music playing was appropriate for the era of the fashions being modeled. There was even a poodle on the runway, alongside a model in a poodle skirt. Many of the outfits brought back good memories of the styles my Mom used to wear over the years. Such a fun show. I even won one of the many great door prizes.
A very good show, well done Centennial Belles! Please let me know when your next show will be.

I would like to thank the Centennial Belles for the wonderful fashion show extravaganza. I thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of the production, from the wonderful service provided by the extremely attentive gentlemen serving refreshments, to the informative and entertaining commentary accompanying the runway models. Learning about our history of fashion spanning 1920's through 1960's was both entertaining and educational. The lovely models added grace and humor with a few surprises thrown in. The love of fashion could clearly be seen, not only in the originals, but also in the finer details of the recreations and the style in which they were all paraded. This coupled with a flair for the narrative made for a great afternoon of entertainment. Who knew Port Alberni had such hidden talent!

I wish ot thank you all for the invitation to the Fashion show.  I enjoyed it very much.  The clothes, music, cake etc and the final touch, the red rose.  It will stay in my memory for a long time.

Bravo to all involved in Vintage Fashion Show.

On Saturday, I had the privilege of representing the Community Arts Council at the Centennial Belles' Fashion show of vintage and reproduction clothing from the 1920s to 1960s.

I am in awe of what was accomplished.  Tricia, what a vision.  Your commentary was great.  The seamstressing and tailoring skills were outstanding.  Models, what panache!
To all the volunteers, well done!  You men in your suits, ties and tuxedos helping to escort the models and who served, you helped to make the affair so elegant.
All of you in the background, unseen, well done.  The make up was lovely.  I recognized two owners of hair studios giving their time and expertise.  I was told other hairdressers also gave their talent.
The wardrobe crew must have been rehearsed, worked hard and been organized as all the changes seemed to be so smooth.
And to all the rest of you not mentioned, but appreciated - KUDOS.
The following superlative does not seem enough for a fabulous show, but will have to do.  BRAVO.  Thank you to all involved.

Myself and two friends attended the Centennial Belles Vintage Bridal and 50 years of fashion show in April. Tricia did a wonderful job keeping the audience captivated with her vast knowledge of fashion. This was evident with her description of the outfit and what else was going on at that time. The evening was highlighted by many beautiful outfits and Bridal Gowns. We were impressed with the Handbags and jewelry that completed the outfits. You will come away with truly appreciating the work that was done to bring the fashions to life. It was a fun evening, you find yourself remembering the various fashions. eg. your poodle skirt, mini skirt or even hot pants. For us one of the Highlights was our friends Mom's Wedding dress from the 1940's Hats off to the Centennial Belles for all there hard work. Truly enjoyed the evening and can not wait for the next production.

We even loved the way the show faded out and the end. Just put it this way you will have closing song in your head for awhile.

.I saw a wonderful fashion show today at Echo Centre. Congratulations to all who worked on putting this together and showing us the beautiful fashions from 1820 to 1920. My husband bought 4 tickets for myself and 3 friends. We attended last year as well. Kudos to Tricia.
